APEC App Challenge 2023: Winners Announced!
Hello everyone!
What an exciting journey we've had this year, culminating in the final pitching session on 19th August 2023 in Seattle. And now, it's time to share the results!
- First Place: Toucan team, from the US, stood out with their application designed to assist small business owners and individuals, especially those with visual and cognitive disabilities. It's a chatbot interface offering info on exporting logistics in over 130 languages.
- Second Place: Team ExportPro from China brought to the table an app that simplifies the export process. It uses machine learning to match products with appropriate customs tariffs.
- Third Place: The Emerge team from the Philippines introduced a multifaceted app with features ranging from an export readiness assessment tool to a global public directory for MSMEs.
All winners were recognized on 21 August in Seattle during the APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting. They even got a chance to present their apps to the Small and Medium Enterprises Ministers.
A big shout-out to everyone who participated. We had 35 teams from 14 economies – the highest we've seen in the APEC App Challenge history!
